The Nazca Lines: Colossal Desert Creatures: What Were They Meant For?

Shishya: Acharya, I heard that a long time ago, some aliens drew very large animal and bird drawings on the soil. Is that true?
Acharya: Nazca Lines?

Shishya: What? I don’t know somewhere in Peru I think.
Acharya: Oh ok! You’re talking about the Nazca lines in the Nazca Desert, that’s in Peru.
You can also call the drawings ‘geoglyphs’. Regarding aliens coming to Earth and drawing birds & animals which belong to Earth – doesn’t make much sense.
No one knows for sure why they were drawn actually. Nobody knows the real purpose behind them.
There are just theories like…to please the rain gods or they were the venues of events linked to their agriculture calendar or for some other religious significance
They have found around 358 Nazca geoglyphs so far.

Shishya: But if the people of Peru drew those, then how did they view them? there were no airplanes, right?
Acharya: There are some surrounding hills from which you could view these geoglyphs

Shishya: How old are they?
Acharya: They say between 500 BC and 500 AD. They found some wooden stakes on some lines and they studied the carbon dating and estimated this period.

Shishya: 500 BC means? how many years ago? 2500?
Acharya: Yes you just add the BC years to the current year – so it’s 500+2024 – how much is it? – 2524 years ago.

Shishya: How can the drawings sorry the geogpligs not get wiped out for so many years?
Acharya: Good Observation! and its “geoglyphs” – “geo” means earth and “glyph” means a carving or inscription in Greek. Well, that place – Nazca is one of the driest deserts on Earth. The rainfall is negligible. So the lines are undisturbed. Due to climate change if it gets heavy rainfall – the lines will vanish.
